Filtering does not appear

  1. Check that Unseen is enabled in your browser’s extensions page.
  2. Reload the supported page after installing or updating the extension.
  3. Open Unseen’s toolbar menu and check that filtering is on.
  4. Check the supported hosts and page types in the install guide. A live stream, embedded player or unrecognized card may not be filtered.

A video is hidden unexpectedly

Use the hidden-count button on the page to show hidden cards temporarily. Open the card’s Unseen menu to remove its watch record, or check the selected site’s creator and text rules in Settings. Undo is available immediately after a manual hide.

Seeking forward does not count the skipped portion. If a card still has the wrong percentage, remove its watch record and report the steps that produced it.

Settings did not save

If Settings shows a save error, keep the page open and choose Retry. Export a backup before reinstalling, moving the extension folder, or trying changes that could remove local data. Do not clear browser or extension data as a first troubleshooting step.

Backups and deletion

Settings lets you export a JSON backup and merge an existing backup into local records. Keep exported files somewhere private: they contain viewing records and are not encrypted.

Deleting extension data resets records, rules and preferences. Removing a permanent installation also removes the local database. Firefox temporary add-ons may retain storage after removal; clear data in Settings before removing a candidate if you want to delete those records. Downloaded backups remain until you delete those files yourself. New playback can be recorded again while the extension is enabled.

Choose how long to keep watch records

History is kept forever by default. In Settings you can choose 90, 180 or 365 days. A shorter period removes old watch records after confirmation, based on when each video was last seen. Manual hides, blocked creators and text rules are preserved.

Export a backup before shortening the period if you might want those records later. Backup files are limited to 20 MiB; an export error leaves your local records intact.

Prepare a bug report

Include the extension version, browser version, operating system, website name, page type and the steps needed to reproduce the problem. Describe what you expected and what happened.

You do not need to share video titles, video URLs, viewing history, account details or an exported backup. If you include a screenshot or an error message, remove private details first. A report using a non-sensitive public test video is enough when the same problem can be reproduced there.
